Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Early Childhood Educator at Middleton by EtonHouse Preschool Surabaya. The Early Childhood Educator's responsibilities include implementing the inquiry-based "Inquire-Think-Learn" curriculum, fostering creativity, working with children, and maintaining an organized learning environment. This role involves working closely with young children and providing them with a nurturing and stimulating educational experience.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute the preparation, planning, and delivery of child-centered learning activities for the child in the class.
2. Use a variety of appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning takes place.
3. Provide planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, special needs, extension, and assessment to the Principal or other authorized officer.
4. Facilitate in the classroom and take an interactive role with children, encouraging them to take pride in their environment and show respect and concern for others.
5. Be responsible for all aspects of classroom management, ensuring resources are well-labelled and accessible, and maintain a tidy, well-organized room.
6. Create an interesting and lively classroom that promotes independent learning and is aesthetically pleasing.
7. Collaborate with Pre-school Director and staff in establishing and developing effective pupil assessment procedures and moderation portfolios.
8. Keep appropriate records of achievement for each child in class and provide reports as necessary.
9. Build positive links with parents through various communication methods, including in-person discussions and coordinating parent meetings.
10. Guide, motivate, and monitor classroom helpers in carrying out their tasks.
11. Participate in the PPP (primary preparation program) for Kindergarten students, scheduled 1-2 times a week, one hour each session.
12. Complete documentation on time according to the due date set on the Termly School Housekeeping Calendar.
13. Participate in school events such as Christmas, Year End, Halloween, Art Auction, etc.
14. Aim to achieve the learning goals set by the school for each level and complete the internal checklist form for each student.
15. In case of force majeure or pandemic, a teacher may be assigned to lead 2 classes.

Online Learning

1. Should the school close due to a pandemic or force majeure, responsibilities will remain the same.
2. Leading two classes or sessions may be required depending on the number of students.
3. Documentation will need to be adjusted for online learning but must still be completed.
4. If Work From Home (WFH) is implemented, working hours must be completed as per agreement.
5. One-to-one classes will be available during the online learning period.
6. Planning and execution of events (maximum 2 per term) will still be required.
7. Meetings will continue despite WFH schedules and require mandatory attendance.
