Associate Security Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Following an established, documented process for event/intrusion detection including but not limited to:
2. Receipt of Security Alerts from monitored devices and associated technology.
3. Acknowledgement of receipt of the event.
4. Opening new service desk tickets or updating existing tickets to track event handling through its lifecycle to resolution and closure.
5. Assignment of the event ticket to the appropriate owner.
6. Follow established processes for the identification of events that require filtering.
7. Documenting and assigning requests for event filtering in the service desk ticket.
8. Follow an established process for collecting relevant data and performing the necessary level of analysis on that data.
9. Transmit event investigation data to the appropriate point of contact, whether that point of contact is an external client or an internal resource. Report on recurring problems and issues discovered during the course of your duties.
10. Follow established processes to ensure that resolution criteria are met before closing tickets.
11. Perform scheduled health checks on applicable devices.

1. Basic knowledge in Operating Systems (Windows/UNIX).
2. Basic knowledge in Networking Protocols and implementation (TCP/IP, OSI Layer, Routing).
3. Basic knowledge in Information Security.
4. Passionate to learn, hardworking, and a good team player.
5. Passionate about the Information Security field.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum Diploma (D3) in any major.
2. 1 Associate level certification is preferable.

8. GSEC (GIAC SECURITY ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATION)
