Slitting Supervisor / Slitting in Charge

About the job Slitting Supervisor (PET & BOPP Manufacturing)

We are looking for a Slitting Supervisor to independently handle a team of Primary slitting & Secondary operation, consisting of 2 primary slitting and 4 secondary slitting machines, with all the shift leaders reporting to him.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the operation of slitting machines, maintaining targeted output with minimal interruption.
2. Provide hands-on experience with slitting operations and guide the team in case of production/quality issues, offering solutions regarding parameter changes and method changes.
3. Maintain quality control checks and procedures.
4. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
5. Foster an environment of continuous improvement.
6. Develop the technical abilities of the slitting team to cultivate future shift leads.
7. Oversee and manage slitting operations for BOPET & BOPP film lines.
8. Conduct regular checks on slitting machines to ensure smooth operation and perform preventive maintenance when necessary.
9. Coordinate with the quality control department to ensure that all finished products meet the required specifications.
10. Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during the slitting process.

Skills Required:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Technology, or a related field.
2. 5-7 years of experience working with slitting machines in BOPET or BOPP film production, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory or in-charge role.
3. Proficiency in English is a must.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate within a team setup.
5. Keen sense and attention to fine details.
6. Problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions based on factual data.
7. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary teamwork spirit.
8. Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
