Research and Development Software Engineer

Founded in 2019, PT Sahabat Laut Lestari (SLL) is an Indonesian company focused on the integration and use of technology and market-driven incentives to support industry and NGOs’ sustainable fisheries commitments. As an implementation and technology partner of an Indonesian-based NGO, Masyarakat dan Perikanan Indonesia (SLL), SLL offers three primary services: 1) Traceability Information Technology, 2) Fisheries Certification implementation, and Fisheries Improvement consultation. With the goal of supporting the achievement of triple-bottom line fisheries – ecological, social, and economic – in Indonesia, SLL is a leading innovator in the development of traceability information technology within Indonesian fisheries.

POSITION SUMMARY AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage and support the development of a Traceability-Based Technology (TBT) platform that creates bidirectional information exchange between Indonesian fishermen, processors, and traders.
  2. Manage and support the customization of software that is already running in the field/manufacturers, specifically the TraceTales system, to improve efficiency of data recording and reduce human error.
  3. Provide service support technology and solutions for TraceTales clients related to issues found during daily implementation.
  4. Design and develop the TraceTales system for new clients, collaborating with the team and maintaining good communication with clients.
  5. Design and develop the TraceTales dashboard system as management analytical applications and customer support systems.
  6. Strengthen stakeholder relations to enhance food safety and quality through training and workshops.
  7. Manage individual operations requests and requests in Greatday, such as leave and overtime.
  8. Perform other assigned duties for the benefit of the organization as per supervisor’s request.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing mobile and web applications, specifically using .NET technology, Flutter, and Next.js.
  • Experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in .NET technology for backend development.
  • Experience in developing mobile applications using Flutter.
  • Experience in developing web applications using Next.js.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Strong knowledge of database concepts, including data definition language (DDL) and data manipulation language (DML).
  • Experience with API system integration.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Familiarity with Docker for containerization.
  • Experience with deploying applications to cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Understanding of computer networks, client-server architecture, and Local Area Networks (LAN).

  • Willingness to frequently travel to implementation areas in Indonesia and/or abroad and work overtime when needed.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in leading development teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
