Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for installing, configuring and training customers on Esko software, ensuring customers are able to use the software efficiently on their own.
2. Prepare every job in detail, either working remotely or traveling to customer sites within SEA region.
3. Ensure alignment with the customer's IT department, to install software and also training the users, developing configurations and workflows tailored to their needs.
4. Adopts a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train and educate customers effectively.
5. Active engagement with customers to scout any potential sales leads to Sales team.
6. Provide site support during exhibitions, roadshows and trade events within the region.
7. Perform any other tasks as assigned.

Key Requirements

1. Experience in problem solving, and a quick learner and IT competency.
2. Analytical mindset, with a calm, methodical approach to problem solving.
3. Direct experience handling complex technical issues with customers and/or suppliers.
4. EITHER 2+ years of experience in prepress for packaging, workflow administrator for prepress automation systems or Esko software (Automation Engine, WebCenter).
5. AND/OR Formal qualification in print/prepress (also in similar businesses like commercial printing).
6. Min. 2-3 years’ experience of working on Application software to prepress, preproduction or graphic arts industry.
7. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional Southeast Asian language(s) will be a plus.
8. Must have the passion to continuously learn, especially the latest trends in this industry and mastering newest technologies to keep up with it.
9. Good communicator with the ability to present and to teach.
10. Flexible in travel and finding solutions (spending on average 25% of the time away from home to be at customers’ sites).
11. Occasionally be required to travel for training, if any.
12. Empathy for customers, colleagues and suppliers.
13. Proactive to the problem at hand, as well as challenging how we eliminate problems in future!
14. Excellent listening skills and ability to interpret customer needs and manage customer expectations.
