Quality Manager

Responsible for production quality of La-Z-Boy’s products sourced in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Responsible for managing in-country QC team to perform quality inspections following La-Z-Boy statistical audit guidelines. Develops and implements key quality initiatives with suppliers to support continuous improvement processes. Assist with Identifying developmental opportunities in the suppliers in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, gains and develops acceptance for implementation of Quality Management System.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prioritize and conduct weekly supplier plant audits in Vietnam on production and quality system in compliance of La-Z-Boy AQL audit procedure.

• Manage the schedule of AQL audits.

• Make final decision on accepting or rejecting a container shipment.

• Manage color/finish approval processes; provide training and color testing to the supplier and auditors.

• Develop training program for new auditors and on-going procedures for verifying auditor performance.

• Determine auditor’s permanent working base and flexible rotation schedule.

• Work with US-based quality teams to review quality rejections documented in La-Z-Boy AQL audit reports by following Quality Rejection Review Procedure; identify and implement corrective actions with suppliers as required.

• Develop continuous improvement plans from the statistical audits and present them to La-Z-Boy Quality and Supply Chain Management teams.

• Review and analyze statistical audit reports and provide recommendations for reduced, normal, and tightened inspection requirements.

• Conduct 8D Corrective Action Process with suppliers to ensure accurate root cause analysis and corrective action implementation; conduct factory site verification of implementation of corrective actions; conduct 30-day, 60-day and 90-day follow-up audits on 8D implementation.

• Participate in PPAP Reviews conducted by NPD managers during the new product launch process. Train QC team on new product and standards for production.

• Conduct Supplier Assessment Process on the new suppliers provided by La-Z-Boy Supply Chain Team before initial Production Run.

• Prepare supplier quality metrics and conduct supplier quality meetings quarterly as well as required by current quality events at the receiving plants and distribution centers, to identify and implement corrective actions.

• Conduct training seminars with suppliers on developing process control plans.
