Draftsman, Structural Engineer

The role requires the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software and building information modeling (BIM) to prepare blueprints and implement modifications to meet project needs. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of drafting techniques, engineering terminology, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop, update, and maintain detailed BIM models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or other relevant platforms for various engineering projects, including MEP, Process, architectural, structural, and civil systems.
2. Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to ensure that BIM models meet project specifications, standards, and design intent.
3. Coordinate the integration of multi-disciplinary models (architectural, structural, MEP, Process) and ensure the models are aligned with project goals and requirements.
4. Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between systems (e.g., MEP, structural, architectural components).

Technical Drawings & Documentation:

1. Prepare 2D and 3D technical drawings, plans, and diagrams based on BIM models and project specifications together with Engineers.
2. Ensure all drawings and models comply with project guidelines, CAD/BIM standards, and client specifications.
3. Cross-check and verify all elevation drawings, CAD files, and BIM data from architects and engineers to ensure consistency and accuracy.
4. Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project standards for all documentation and deliverables.
5. Work closely with Design, Engineering, and Project teams to understand drawing requirements and project goals.
6. Attend design meetings and contribute valuable insights on drawing requirements, design constraints, and workflow optimizations.
7. Provide BIM and CAD support to team members and external stakeholders.

BIM/CAD Standards & Quality Assurance:

1. Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to BIM standards, templates, and workflows for the project.
2. Conduct quality checks on BIM models and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant project and industry standards.
3. Maintain proper documentation of revisions, updates, and changes made to BIM models and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in BIM and CAD.
2. Manage and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and milestones.
3. Support the project teams in meeting client deliverables and ensuring the timely delivery of BIM and CAD outputs.
4. Develop and prepare design sketches using CAD and BIM software.
5. Interpret and draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects.
6. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to understand the project requirements.
7. Review and modify designs to reduce production problems and improve the overall quality of designs.
8. Produce accurate and comprehensive design documentation for construction projects.
9. Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and guidelines.
10. Maintain and update design and drafting standards and procedures.
11. Address and resolve design-related issues that arise during construction.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. At least 4-5 Years of relevant experience in BIM model-related projects.
3. Software Experience Requirements: 1. REVIT, 2. AutoCAD, 3.
4. Able to complete models, and shop drawings in a timely and quality manner.
5. Technical proficiency in BIM and CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar to create detailed, accurate architectural and engineering drafts.
