Role Description

Institut Teknologi Bandung is seeking a highly motivated PhD student with expertise in plant science or plant biotechnology to join our research program. This is a full-time, on-site role at ITB, focusing on advanced research in plant molecular biology. The candidate will work on:

• Regulation of specialized metabolite biosynthesis in plants
• Genome editing in plants using CRISPR-Cas9

The PhD student will be responsible for conducting experimental research, analyzing data, publishing findings in reputable journals, attending seminars and workshops, and collaborating with faculty members. The role may also involve assisting in teaching undergraduate or master’s students and participating in academic conferences.

Qualifications

• Strong background in plant science, biotechnology, or related fields
• Experience in molecular biology, plant tissue culture, or genome editing is highly desirable
• Advanced research skills with the ability to conduct independent studies
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with academic writing and publishing in scientific journals
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse research teams
• Teaching or mentoring experience is a plus
• Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work independently
