Design Team Leader

The Design Team Leader is responsible for coordinating graphic design work to support client briefs and objectives. You will be responsible for the quality, creativity and delivery of the projects undertaken by the creative team, along with ensuring customer and team satisfaction.

1. Provide general oversight and support for all members of the Design team.
2. Work with the Design Manager to understand, analyse, and respond to client briefs.
3. Manage and coordinate the workflow within the design team including job prioritisation, creative objectives, requirements and scheduling.
4. Work with the Art Director to develop and deliver boundary pushing design concepts and ideas.
5. Develop, implement, monitor and review procedures within the Design team.
6. Liaise with management on a daily basis to ensure effective communication and alignment of design projects with company goals.

Client Engagement

1. Support the Design Manager to liaise with customers as necessary to negotiate solutions where a range of interests have to be accommodated.
2. Decipher complex design briefs and objectives into intelligent solutions which meet the customer's brief and brand.

Team Management

1. Under guidance of the Design Manager, provide daily management of staff performing graphic design duties; including the allocation of responsibilities and review of performance.
2. Support the Design Manager to develop and/or improve the capability of staff within work area. This includes organising training, personal development, and knowledge sharing within the studio to better meet the current and future requirements.
3. Working with the Art Director to provide oversight and mentoring of design team members to promote a culture of innovation, originality and strong creativity for design ideation, high quality concepts, and execution.

Streamlined Creative Workflow

1. Manage the Administration, prioritisation, and triage of creative enquiries to best utilize our internal resources.
2. Support the creative team to use efficient workflow methods to create design concepts for the clients in line with time and budget restraints.
3. Maintains positive communication with studio staff and management to ensure positive workflow and status updates.
4. Involvement with customer projects from start to finish, ensuring successful project progression and completion against deadlines.

1. Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts, Media Arts, Graphic Design or equivalent education.
2. Must possess a high level of expertise in print design, including hands-on experience in creating and managing print projects.
3. 4 or more years of experience as a Senior Designer with a portfolio comprising of branding and design solutions for major brands.
4. High level understanding of traditional design and future digital landscape and trends.
5. Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign).
6. Thorough knowledge of other digital software including:

8. MS Office– Office, Word, PowerPoint.
9. Ability and confidence to communicate and convey information to customers and co-workers, including strong concept, presentation and collaboration skills.
10. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
11. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in small teams.
12. Demonstrated management and leadership skills with successful experience in managing and leading staff to promote a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows.
13. Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
14. Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
15. Strong experience in project management within a related field including the ability to work well under tight deadlines for projects of various size and scope.
