Design Engineer

Job Description:

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the engineering design process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all designs meet technical specifications and industry standards. Working closely with the Senior and Manager of Design Engineer, this role requires a strong understanding of the Company’s products and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions. Additionally, you play a critical role in maintaining compliance with ISO standards and providing technical support to clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Support Engineering Design Projects:
   • Assist the Senior and Manager of Design Engineer in completing all engineering design projects, ensuring they meet both internal and client specifications.
   • Continuously provide input and support throughout the design process to optimize project outcomes.
   • Prepare Bill of Material for Procurement team.
   • Understand customer Bill of Quantity during design stage.
   • Prepare cable block cable schedule.
2. Product Knowledge Development:
   • Continuously study and acquire in-depth technical knowledge of all company products to ensure accurate and effective design solutions.
   • Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and product innovations.
3. Technical Customer Support:
   • Provide technical advice and support to customers, helping them to resolve a variety of technical and operational challenges.
   • Act as a problem-solver for customer-related issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
4. Solution Proposal & Optimization:
   • Identify opportunities for improvement and propose better solutions to meet customer needs and address operational difficulties.
   • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and suggest innovative design modifications.
5. Client Interaction & Meetings:
   • Attend all client technical meetings to present design solutions, address concerns, and gather feedback for project refinement.
   • Act as a technical liaison between the client and the internal design team to ensure all requirements are met.
6. Progress Monitoring & Quality Control:
   • Assist the Senior and Manager of Design Engineer in monitoring the progress of design projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
   • Contribute to the quality control process by reviewing designs, identifying non-conformances, and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
7. Engineering Design & Documentation:
   • Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and schematics for various projects, utilizing design tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
   • Ensure all designs are precise, functional, and compliant with technical specifications.
8. Non-conformance Investigation & Resolution:
   • Investigate non-conformance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to close out any discrepancies.
   • Ensure that all issues are resolved promptly to maintain project quality and compliance.
9. Task Support:
   • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Senior and Manager of Design Engineer, contributing to the success of the engineering team and project objectives.
10. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Support any other tasks assigned by the Project Director related to project execution.
    • Assist in the implementation and compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System policies, ensuring adherence to:
    • ISO 9001 (Quality Management System).
    • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System).
    • ISO 45001 (Safety & Health Management System).

• Minimum Bachelor / Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
• Language required: English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and relevant standards.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Candidate must have skills and knowledge in problem solving and technical analysis.
