Data Scientist - Financial Services

Lentera Inspirasi Pembiayaan (LIP), an entity of Flip, is building the fairest and most customer centric multi-finance platform in Indonesia.

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist that will support the risk department by building ML/AI-based models to assist underwriting and other aspects of lending business, delivering statistically driven and actionable insights, and designing efficient reporting frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ML/AI modeling, statistics, and analytics within a financial or multi-finance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the lending business by providing expertise in the form of predictive models using ML/AI.
2. Define problems and hypotheses, develop recommendations and decision support tools to increase business value.
3. Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development and business strategies.
4. Be able to clearly communicate findings and ideas to technical or non-technical teams in Indonesian and English.

Qualifications:

1. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in creating end-to-end ML/AI models from data cleansing, feature engineering, to model monitoring.
2. Strong knowledge fundamentals in statistics.
3. Able to communicate ideas in English fluently.
4. Familiar with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Superset, etc.
5. Proficient in Python and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge in credit scoring, risk profiling, or underwriting in the multi-finance industry.
2. Experience with Machine Learning Engineering concepts is a plus (model deployment, parallelization, etc).
