Job description

Mekari is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Development Associate to join our growing team. This role will be pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A and strategic investment opportunities to accelerate our growth. As a Corporate Development Associate, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, engage with prospective companies across the SEA region, and support Mekari's strategic objectives in a highly dynamic and competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and partnership opportunities within Indonesia and the broader SEA region.
  2. Manage the deal lifecycle, from sourcing to due diligence and transaction execution.
  3. Work closely with senior management to define and execute the corporate development strategy.
  4. Develop financial models, business cases, and valuation analysis to support decision-making on M&A and investment activities.
  5. Perform comprehensive due diligence, risk assessment, and integration planning for potential deals.
  6. Maintain a robust pipeline of M&A targets, leveraging industry contacts and databases.
  7. Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership on M&A opportunities, including financial projections, strategic rationale, and market positioning.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (CFA, CA) are a plus.
  2. Experience: 3-5 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, venture capital, or a similar corporate development role.
  3. Strong analytical skills, including expertise in financial modeling, valuations, and market analysis.
  4. Demonstrated experience in deal structuring, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  5. Familiarity with SEA markets and ability to assess market opportunities across the region.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  7. Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in the software or Accounting/HR industry.
  2. Established network with industry contacts within SEA or Indonesia.
  3. Experience with post-merger integration and project management.
