Business Data Engineer

About the role

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Central Jakarta. As a Business Data Engineer at PT Biznet Gio Nusantara, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the company's database systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising database solutions to support the company's business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, preferably in the Information & Communication Technology industry
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Proficiency with ETL tools such as Pentaho
• Proficiency in Python for data pipelining
• Proficiency in visualization tools such as Redash and Metabase
• Strong understanding of data modelling, indexing, and performance optimization techniques
• Familiarity with Linux and cronjob
• Familiarity with modern data warehousing and business intelligence tools and technologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex data challenges
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Good sense of business flow and product knowledge

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure accurate and timely data integration
• Maintain and manage data warehouse / datalake
• Define and implement data engineering best practices for data processing, storage, and retrieval
• Optimise database performance and scalability through indexing, partitioning, and other techniques
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions
• Continuously monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Implement data security and governance measures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, including mentoring and knowledge sharing
• Ensure efficient data flow across the business intelligence system
• Support various departments with accurate data for business development and decision-making
