OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance and Accounting team as a Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing a range of financial and accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial operations. This role is crucial in maintaining the company’s financial health by ensuring proper financial record keeping and timely reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Record Financial Transactions: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and expenditures.
  2. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and verify discrepancies between accounts and statements.
  3. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable systems, ensuring timely payments to vendors and timely collection of payments from customers.
  4. Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring employee compensation is accurate and timely, and deductions are made correctly.
  5. Generate Financial Reports: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  6. Maintain General Ledger: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded and categorized.
  7. Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing and filing sales tax, payroll tax, and other business-related taxes in compliance with local regulations.
  8. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting, and provide insights on financial performance and cash flow.
  9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  10. Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain organized financial records and documents for easy access during audits or tax filing.
  11. Other Tasks as Assigned: Perform any other duties that contribute to the effective running of the finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  5. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  6. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  8. High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
  9. Professional appearance and demeanor.
  10. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  11. Strong multitasking abilities and effective time management skills.
  12. Experience with architects, interior design, and/or building companies is a plus.
