The Banquet Attendant is concerned with the efficient and professional service of food and beverages while ensuring guests receive optimum service in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures of the hotel and Hilton International.

What will I be doing?

As the Banquet Attendant, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  1. Confidently know the food and beverage menu contents and explain them in detail to guests.
  2. Understand dietary requirements and offer appropriate suggestions.
  3. Correctly label buffet dishes.
  4. Keep buffet areas clean at all times.
  5. Complete TBS checklists on product knowledge.
  6. Make suggestions on the menu that might suit guests of different nationalities.
  7. Ensure that everything is clean and tidy, ready for guests to enter the restaurant.
  8. Assist bar attendants and kitchen staff where required and carry out any reasonable duties requested by the Supervisor/Manager.
  9. Greet guests with smiles and offer assistance with coats, bags, etc., introducing yourself.
  10. Escort guests to a table and ask if they would prefer a smoking or non-smoking table.
  11. Offer all guests with a drink within the first two minutes of being seated and quickly follow-up with the food menu.
  12. Ensure that all service procedures are carried out to the standards required.
  13. Replenish drinks, not letting cups or glasses become empty.
  14. Take personal responsibility for the service experience of all guests in your designated area.
  15. Ensure that guests have appropriate cutlery before each course is presented.
  16. Check with guests if they are satisfied after each course and if anything additional is needed.
  17. Smile and greet all guests as they enter and exit the restaurant, even if they are not designated to your section.
  18. Ensure that service standards are achieved as per TBS checklist.
  19. Make sure that all areas are cleaned and maintained in accordance with operating procedures.
  20. Assist with guests’ coats and bags.
  21. Thank all guests and wish them a pleasant day.
  22. Report any accidents/incidents to the Supervisor/Manager.
  23. Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  5. Guest oriented and able to confidently build and exceed service standards.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to details.
  7. Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations.
  8. Good English skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Familiar with computer systems.
  10. Outgoing personality and willing to work for long hours.
