Job Description:
- Lead and oversee the architectural design and planning for data center projects, managing the process from initial concept to construction. Ensure that designs align with project goals, client needs, and industry best practices.
- Supervise and mentor a team of architects and designers, promoting a collaborative, creative, and innovative work environment. Conduct performance evaluations and provide growth opportunities for team members.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, construction teams, and clients, to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve all architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and adherence to project standards. Conduct regular site visits to ensure design compliance and quality assurance.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations at local, state, and federal levels. Stay updated on industry standards and evolving trends in data center architecture.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through value engineering without compromising the integrity or functionality of the design.
- Provide technical guidance to the architectural team, solving complex design issues and enhancing project performance and functionality.
- Maintain thorough project documentation, including design changes, meeting notes, and progress reports. Present design concepts and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on data centers or similar infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices in data center design.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
