AI Software Engineer

We connect top‑tier senior software engineers from Southeast Asia with innovative companies worldwide, addressing talent shortages in Western markets by delivering elite engineering talent at a fraction of conventional hiring costs. Our current focus is on developing an AI Recruiter Co‑Pilot—a voice‐led, interactive system that automates candidate screening and conducts dynamic interviews.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated AI Engineer to join our two‑person MVP team. You will be responsible for designing and developing the core AI components of our AI Recruiter Co‑Pilot. This includes integrating cutting‑edge AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI GPT‑4‑turbo) along with speech-to‑text (via Whisper) and text‑to‑speech (via ElevenLabs) technologies to deliver a real‑time, voice-based interactive interview experience. There is potential for a full‑time role upon successful MVP delivery. MVP will be built from 16 June - 16 August, with a 2-month contract onsite and remote in Yogyakarta.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architect and implement the conversational logic using OpenAI’s GPT‑4‑turbo.
2. Integrate voice services (Whisper for transcription and ElevenLabs for voice synthesis) to enable natural, real‑time interactions.
3. Work on prompt engineering and context management to ensure coherent, dynamic interview dialogues.
4. Develop prototypes for each AI component, conduct iterative testing, and optimise the system for responsiveness and scalability.
5. Work closely with the Full‑Stack Engineer to ensure smooth integration of the AI modules with the web interface.
6. Document your work and contribute to regular team updates.

Required Qualifications:

1. Demonstrable experience with AI API integrations (e.g. OpenAI GPT, even if on a prototype scale) or similar NLP projects.
2. Understanding of speech-to‑text and text‑to‑speech technologies; while direct experience with Whisper/ElevenLabs is advantageous, a robust plan for integration is acceptable.
3. Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to design modular, scalable systems.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
5. Willingness to work full‑time on site in Yogyakarta for the duration of the project.
