Job Description

1. Lead the end-to-end process of designing and training large-scale AI language models, such as GPT or similar, tailored to our specific software applications.
2. Utilize advanced deep learning techniques to fine-tune models, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
3. Conduct extensive model evaluations and tuning to enhance language generation, natural language understanding, and AI-driven problem-solving capabilities.
4. Collaborate closely with our Senior Software Developers to seamlessly integrate AI models into existing and new desktop software solutions.
5. Architect scalable solutions that facilitate the smooth deployment of AI models, ensuring minimal latency and maximum reliability within desktop applications.
6. Provide leadership and hands-on expertise in debugging, performance optimization, and quality control for AI-integrated desktop applications.
7. Work with data engineers and domain experts to curate and preprocess large datasets used for training, validation, and testing LLMs.
8. Apply advanced data augmentation, feature engineering, and data pipeline automation to ensure high-quality input for AI models.
9. Drive innovation by experimenting with new algorithms, frameworks, and model architectures in AI and deep learning.
10. Continuously explore the latest developments in AI research, adapting and implementing cutting-edge methodologies to enhance AI capabilities.
11. Set up infrastructure for ongoing monitoring of AI model performance, ensuring real-time feedback and model updates when necessary.
12. Implement model retraining strategies based on user feedback, system interactions, and performance metrics to ensure AI functionality remains up-to-date and robust.
13. Mentor other developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
14. Partner with cross-functional teams, including the Dev Manager, Product Manager, UX designers, and business stakeholders, to align AI strategies with business goals.
15. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, outlining key model decisions, architecture design, and integration strategies.
16. Provide regular reports on model performance, integration challenges, and improvement plans to the leadership team.

The Successful Applicant

1. Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
2. Possess at least 5 years commercial software development experience, specifically Windows and Azure applications.
3. Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.
4. Proven experience in training large language models (LLMs), including hands-on work with frameworks like ChatGPT API, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar.
5. Strong knowledge of deep learning architectures, including transformers, attention mechanisms, and reinforcement learning.
6. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, and deep understanding of AI/ML libraries and tools.
7. Experience integrating AI models into desktop software, particularly with frameworks like .NET, C#, or C++.
8. Familiarity with cloud-based AI infrastructure (e.g., Azure) and the ability to design scalable AI solutions.
9. Experience with data preprocessing techniques, data pipeline automation, and handling large datasets.
10. Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
11. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
