Job description

One of our Food & Beverage Collection - Luxury Authentic Chinese Restaurant is hiring for a Cost Controller to ensure efficient financial operations by monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs.

This role focuses on managing inventory, ensuring budget compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records to maximize profitability while supporting the restaurant's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Control:
    1. Monitor and analyze all costs associated with hotel operations, including food, beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departmental expenses.
    2. Develop cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or guest satisfaction.
  2. Inventory Management:
    1. Conduct regular audits of inventory levels for food, beverages, and operational supplies.
    2. Maintain accurate records of stock movements, purchases, and consumption.
    3. Collaborate with department heads to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    1. Assist in preparing departmental budgets and forecasts.
    2. Track actual expenses against budgeted figures, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  4. Purchasing Oversight:
    1. Work with the purchasing department to evaluate supplier contracts and pricing agreements.
    2. Verify that purchases are aligned with the approved budget and operational needs.
  5. Prepare and present cost control reports to management, including detailed analysis of trends and insights.
  6. Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions related to cost control.
  7. Internal Controls & Compliance:
    1. Implement and enforce internal controls to prevent wastage, fraud, and inefficiencies.
    2. Ensure compliance with hotel policies and financial regulations.
  8. Collaboration with Teams:
    1. Liaise with other departments to identify cost optimization opportunities.
    2. Train and guide staff on cost-conscious practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cost control, preferably in the F&B industry or in any hospitality industry.
  3. Strong understanding of inventory management, purchasing, and financial reporting.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (especially Excel).
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Knowledge of restaurant operations is an advantage.
  9. Financial acumen and ability to interpret data.
  10. Strong commitment to ethical financial practices.
  11. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  12. Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
