Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Accounting and Tax Consultant to join our team in Bali. This role involves a balance of day-to-day financial internal administration and consulting for clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and optimizing accounting systems (Odoo, Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB) and ensuring compliance with Indonesian tax regulations. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential, as this role involves direct client interactions.
Job Description
Core Accounting Responsibilities
- Manage the entire accounting cycle—Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, and general ledger oversight.
- Oversee monthly and year-end closing procedures, including reviewing financial statements and coordinating with external auditors.
- Oversee payroll setups and implementations (e.g., Odoo, Xero), ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate payment processing.
- Process, verify, and post receipts for goods sold or services rendered using Xero and Odoo.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records or customer accounts, maintaining accurate books.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, account statuses, and payment histories.
Administration & Reporting
- Generate regular reports and statements for internal use, monitoring both receivables and payables.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data, ensuring complete and up-to-date ledgers and journals.
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks, including data entry, invoice preparation, payment reminders, filing paperwork, and customer communications.
Collections & Credit Control
- Work with the collections department to address delinquent accounts, developing effective collection strategies.
- Engage with clients regarding overdue payments, resolving disputes and maintaining positive business relationships.
Managed Services & Client Advisory
- Deliver retainer-based accounting and tax services, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, tax compliance, and payroll management.
- Serve as the secondary point of contact for clients under managed services contracts, providing ongoing support and strategic advice.
- Establish and maintain regular touchpoints with clients to ensure timely completion of recurring tasks, proactive issue resolution, and continuous process improvements.
- Provide expert guidance on accounting system setup (Odoo, Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB) for clients, advising on financial best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Develop customized financial strategies to help clients improve efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and support.
Professional Development & Best Practices
- Participate in ongoing training opportunities to stay updated on best practices, industry standards, and regulatory changes.
Qualification
- Fluent in both English and Indonesian (spoken and written) to effectively communicate with international and local clients.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting, financial consulting, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll processing, and tax compliance.
- Proven experience in setting up and optimizing accounting systems such as Odoo, Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB for businesses.
- Brevet A & B certification is required; Brevet C is a plus.
- Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability in all aspects of work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and internal departments.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in F&B industry accounting is a plus.
