3D Product/Industrial Designer for Furniture & Storage Products (US/Remote)

Our Client is an innovative company that specializes in creating unique and distinctive accessories with a focus on modern, minimalist designs. We are seeking a highly skilled 3D Product or Industrial Designer to join our team and drive the growth of our product line for 2024 and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the manufacturing process, particularly for wooden products such as furniture, ornaments, and organizers.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and develop initial product designs based on broad briefs, inspirations, and product ideas provided by the company.
• Refine and iterate on designs, ensuring they align with the company's distinctive, modern, and minimalist aesthetic, while also considering user-centric design principles.
• Collaborate closely with the team in China to ensure that the designs are not only visually appealing but also economical and feasible for large-scale manufacturing.
• Produce detailed 3D renders, 3D model files, and PDF blueprints to effectively communicate the design specifications and facilitate the manufacturing process.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into the product development lifecycle.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in 3D product or industrial design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful product design projects, particularly in the realm of wooden products, furniture, ornaments, and organizers.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques, with a keen eye for balancing design aesthetics with cost-effective manufacturing considerations.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Solidworks, Rhino, Autodesk Fusion 360) and rendering tools to create high-quality visualizations and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to overcome design and production challenges.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
