Job description
Our client is looking for a VP Powerplant to join their team in Hong Kong or Singapore. This role is pivotal in managing and optimising the technical aspects of their powerplant assets, ensuring superior performance throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
The successful candidate will be integral to both the Powerplant Team and the broader strategic objectives of the company, contributing to the delivery of commercial goals and managing customer relationships across the Asia-Pacific region.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert support in the delivery and transition of aircraft, focusing on engine performance, cost-effective repairs, and overhauls.
Lead negotiations on LOIs and leases, ensuring robust asset protection for engines on both new and used aircraft.
Develop and maintain key relationships with Engine OEMs, MROs, and other stakeholders to optimize cost predictions and management.
Collaborate closely with internal departments to assess and manage risks associated with aircraft ownership from a powerplant perspective.
Act as a key member of airline deal teams, building and maintaining senior technical relationships with customers.
Monitor and manage fleet maintenance, operational issues, and exposure risks within the engine portfolio.
Oversee and guide consultants working on behalf of the company, ensuring access to top talent in the industry.
Represent the company at industry conferences, engaging with industry participants and leading discussions on engine asset management.
What you will need:
Minimum 5 years of experience in engine MRO, OEM, leasing, or airline operations, with a strong background in management.
A recognized degree in aeronautical engineering or a related discipline, or an FAA/EASA licensed aircraft mechanics qualification.
Extensive knowledge of engine maintenance programs, shop visit management, modifications, and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to tight timelines and budgetary constraints.
Flexibility to travel as required, sometimes on short notice.
