Youth Mental Health Advocate - Full Time - Thatcham

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable people in education? Do you want to help students reach their full potential?

A brilliant SEN provision in Thatcham is looking to take on a Youth Mental Health Advocate this April (Term 5). The school is fully committed to creating a supportive, nurturing environment where students can express themselves freely and receive the support they need while still accessing high-quality education. Students attending the school are aged 11-14 years old and face challenges regarding social, emotional, and mental health needs. The Youth Mental Health Advocate role is a crucial position within the school's community.

Main Responsibilities of a Youth Mental Health Advocate:
  1. Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage students
  2. Create a safe environment for students to speak freely
  3. Collaborate with educational psychologists to tailor learning plans
  4. Implement therapeutic techniques
  5. Encourage independence and self-investigation
  6. 1-1 based support and interventions

The school is excited to welcome a Youth Mental Health Advocate to improve their students' quality of education. Full training will be provided on site to the successful applicant. Previous experience is beneficial but not mandatory! The school is looking for a confident, enthusiastic candidate to help their students reach their full potential in education and society.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30

Salary: £80 to £90 daily rate

Provision: SEMH provision
