This is an excellent part time opportunity of 22 hours per week.

Role Overview

As a Youth Justice Lead Practitioner in North East Lincolnshire Council's Children's Services, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team collaborating with partners to support children in North East Lincolnshire and keep them safe.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Your role will involve working with children and young people on out of court disposals and court orders, including those under Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and in custody.
  2. You will be responsible for coordinating interventions and support for children, meeting statutory requirements in line with the Youth Justice Board case management guidance.
  3. You will assess children's needs, risks of reoffending, and ensure delivery of supportive services.
  4. You will be responsible for decision-making and preparing reports for panels and courts.
  5. You will be accountable for developing and evaluating intervention plans, working collaboratively with council and partnership colleagues, engaging in direct work with children and families, and using theoretical knowledge to influence plans.
  6. A key aspect of the job is your ability to engage children and families who may be challenging.
  7. You will need to be creative in the way that you work with complex families, engaging them to build on the positives whilst having a strong understanding of the impact of exploitation, trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
  8. Part of your responsibilities includes promoting learning through reviews, participating in the office duty rota, ensuring data compliance, and supporting service development.
  9. The role requires flexibility with some evening and weekend work connected to court services and home visits.
