Job description

To directly contribute to achieving the aims of the Wakefield Children and Young People’s Plan, specifically:

To support the team to develop and deliver a comprehensive offer of support and activities for children and young people from age 11 to 24 (up to and including).

To facilitate the engagement of children and young people in a range of group work and one-to-one activities and programmes in a variety of settings, including centre-based activities, street-based, and community activities.

To work directly with children and young people, providing support and activities with the aim of:

  • Improving access to employment
  • Promoting good health and wellbeing
  • Connecting people with local community services

To build relationships and work alongside local partner organisations and community stakeholders who provide support for children and young people with the aim of achieving improved access to services and outcomes for all children and young people.

To work with Schools, Colleges, Training Providers, and Employers to identify work placements and/or learning opportunities for young people and to support young people to access these opportunities.

To advocate for children and young people and promote and support their participation in all aspects of service delivery, design, and implementation.
