The Role
Overview
We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our team as Youth and Community Manager. This role is central to the strategic development and operational delivery of our youth and community work across all YMCA North Tyneside sites.
You will take a lead role in shaping and delivering impactful programmes for young people aged 7–25, while also supporting broader initiatives aimed at empowering children, strengthening families, and reaching the most vulnerable within our communities.

Who Are We Looking For
- We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced leader with:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in youth and/or community work, with a proven record of successful project development and delivery.
- A relevant qualification in youth work, community development, or a related field (desirable).
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, support, and manage a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A solution-focused mindset, with the ability to identify challenges and implement innovative, practical solutions.
- Strong organisational abilities, with high levels of motivation, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work.
- A genuine alignment with the values and mission of YMCA North Tyneside, with a commitment to delivering excellence in everything you do.
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, as travel between delivery locations will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our youth and community teams, ensuring the effective implementation of our strategy across all delivery areas.
- Oversee the design and delivery of innovative and inclusive youth and community programmes.
- Support and develop staff to reach their full potential and maintain high standards of delivery and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including the Youth and Community Development Officer, to identify new opportunities, secure funding, and strengthen community partnerships.
- Monitor and evaluate services to ensure quality, impact, and sustainability.
