Role

We are looking for a passionate and proactive Young People Outreach Worker to engage with disabled young people and their families, gathering insights to inform the future design of our services. You will lead engagement activities, build meaningful relationships, and create inclusive spaces for young people to share their experiences and shape services that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with disabled young people and families.
  • Facilitate workshops, events, and outreach activities.
  • Amplify young people's voices within GCIL and with external stakeholders.
  • Gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Contribute to project reports and recommendations for future services.

About You:

You’ll bring experience in engaging with disabled and/or young people, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to inclusion and empowerment. You will have:

  • Experience delivering services for disabled people and/or young people.
  • Knowledge of relevant policy and rights-based approaches.
  • Digital skills to enhance engagement and communication.
  • A self-motivated, results-focused approach with integrity and a commitment to challenging discrimination.

The RSSW is a key role within Fair Deal which has been developed in order to provide skilled direct support to individuals with very complex and varied needs, including behaviour that challenges. The RSSW will work in services where alternatives to traditional models of care may be explored and implemented.

In addition to working directly with individuals with complex and varied needs, the RSSW will play a pivotal role in working in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team, families and those being supported to ensure a robust and outcome focused support plan and guidelines are agreed and implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide direct support to service users with very complex needs who display stress and distressed behaviour/behaviours that challenge.
  • To uphold organisational values and to ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety.
  • To promote the independence and develop the skills of the people we support and assist with all tasks necessary to support the person(s) to fulfil potential and have a valued life.
  • To work positively with the team, other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure a quality provision of care in line with the national health and social care standards – my support, my life.
  • Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records, risk assessments and support plans and act as a key worker when required.
  • To ensure that the living environment is safe and appropriate to meet each individual’s needs.
  • To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to the needs of the people we support and maintain SSSC registration.

Please note the post is for permanent night shift however there is an expectation that the post holder will be available for some initial training in daytime hours for the first few weeks in post. There may be a requirement beyond this for occasional daytime training course planned in advance.

We have an exciting opportunity to join Cornerstone as our Head of Finance on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to our Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the management and development of our Finance function, ensuring the provision of accurate, reliable and timely financial information and analysis to support our organisation in its activities. This is a varied role which encompasses many aspects within our Finance department.

Location

This role can be based in any of our main offices (Aberdeen, Dundee or Glasgow), or part of our hybrid working model. If opting for hybrid, we would need you to live within a reasonable commute of Aberdeen, Dundee or Glasgow. There will be occasions that we'll need you to travel to other Cornerstone branch locations (travel expenses will be reimbursed as set out in Cornerstone’s expense policy with travel reimbursed by HMRC legislation).

The Role

As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you'll contribute to the delivery of Cornerstone's strategic, operational and departmental plans.

You'll assist our Director of Finance to establish and maintain effective financial management and business support to ensure that appropriate financial policies and management information systems are in place to guarantee ongoing stability and growth.

Providing an accounting service to all departments and areas within Cornerstone, you'll combine your accounting skills with effective financial management to provide concise communications to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

You'll have responsibility for the preparation of monthly financial reporting and monthly written reports analysing performance and mitigation steps where necessary. You'll also support the preparation of annual budgets, monitoring reports, forecasts and annual accounts.

About You

What we'll need you to bring:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Recognised chartered accountancy CCAB qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of the legal and charitable framework
  • Experience of leading, developing and managing a Finance team to deliver high quality and service within a similar type or size of organisation
  • Proven experience in the development and maintenance of financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Good analytical and evaluation skills with the ability to understand and carry out complex numerical and financial calculations and analyse data
  • The ability to transfer strategy into operational and departmental work plans
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and organise work
  • Proven track record of working to tight deadlines and simultaneously managing several initiatives
  • The ability to identify quality processes and procedures with the ability to communicate these clearly verbally and in writing
