Job description

Dorridge Primary School is a ‘happy and high-performing school’ situated just minutes off Junction 4 of the M42 and only 3 miles from the town of Solihull. Our recent Ofsted report in September 2024 spoke about pupils who ‘behave impeccably at all points of the day’ in a school where the staff ‘provide a wealth of opportunities for pupils to develop skills and widen their experiences outside of the classroom’. As an innovative school with a steely determination for the academic achievement of its pupils, and as part of a Multi Academy Trust, there is the opportunity for exceptional training and the sharing of knowledge and ideas.

We are looking for a positive and skilled leader who is an enthusiastic practitioner with high expectations to act as an ambassador for Teaching and Learning across their year group. You will effectively lead key areas of school development and motivate, inspire, challenge and support your team. You will deliver consistently good teaching and learning to help all pupils to achieve excellent academic results. Experience of using tracking, assessment and data analysis as an effective tool to accelerate progress and raise achievement is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join an ambitious school:

  • to work with pupils who are committed to their learning and passionate about their own further professional development;
  • to work to raise the outcomes of all pupils by inspiring and motivating pupils and staff alike.

All staff work hard, supported by a committed leadership team, to provide a safe and encouraging environment for learning.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • an individual with a commitment to driving standards and ensuring every child is challenged to achieve their maximum potential;
  • a teacher with experience of raising the attainment of all pupils;
  • someone who is committed to developing their own teaching practice in a supportive team environment;
  • a professional who is able to work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders;
  • an excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.

In return, we can offer you:

  • a positive and innovative learning culture supported by pupils, staff, parents and governors;
  • enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning and engage positively in all aspects of school life;
  • a collaborative and supportive attitude amongst staff, which promotes a sense of teamwork and unity;
  • a Senior Leadership Team that is committed to promoting the best environment and outcomes for staff and pupils;
  • opportunities for CPD and progression as part of a Multi Academy Trust;
  • teachers’ pension;
  • cycle-to-work scheme.

Closing date: 9am on Monday 28th April 2025

Interview date: Thursday 8th and Friday 9th May 2025 (candidates successfully shortlisted to the interview stage will be contacted)

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality or religion. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, will be subject to a social media online search.
