Job description

There is a vibrant and forward-thinking primary school committed to nurturing every child’s potential. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Year 5/6 Teacher to inspire and guide their students through these important Key Stage 2 years, preparing them for their transition to secondary school. This role is for September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5/6 Teacher:

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  2. Foster a positive, stimulating classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated to achieve.
  3. Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support improvement.
  4. Encourage students’ personal and social development, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges ahead.
  5. Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  6. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the overall development of students and the wider school community.
  7. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and welfare.
  8. Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher:

  1. A degree in Education or a relevant subject.
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  3. Experience teaching Year 5 or Year 6, with a good understanding of the curriculum and assessment processes.
  4. Strong classroom management skills and a positive approach to teaching.
  5. Ability to motivate, engage, and challenge students to achieve their best.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Year 5/6 Teacher.
