Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2/3 Teacher to join a friendly and nurturing team at a vibrant school. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach a mixed-age class in a supportive and community-focused school environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to achieve their best. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as Year 2/3 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons that meet the needs of all learners in KS1 and lower KS2 classes.

  • Use a range of assessment strategies to track and support pupil progress.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources and ideas.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure targeted intervention where needed.

  • Maintain regular communication with parents and carers.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, trips, and events.

  • Uphold the school’s values and policies, including safeguarding and wellbeing.

Ideal Year 2/3 Teacher:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Has a strong understanding of the KS1 and lower KS2 curriculum.

  • Is confident teaching phonics, early literacy, and numeracy.

  • Can differentiate effectively to support a wide range of abilities.

  • Builds warm, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • Brings creativity, resilience, and a commitment to inclusive education.

  • Is reflective and open to ongoing professional development.
