Yard Hand/Boat Tower

A well-established boatbuilding company is seeking a reliable and proactive Yard Hand / Boat Tower to join their team. Specialising in the construction of high-quality vessels, this company is known for its expert craftsmanship and dedication to innovation in the marine industry.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the safe movement of boats around the unit, towing boats as required, and assisting with general duties. You will also support the stores department, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the marine industry who enjoys practical work in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safely move and tow boats around the yard and between locations
2. Assist with general yard duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and organisation
3. Support the stores department with stock handling, deliveries, and storage
4. Load and unload materials and equipment as required
5. Carry out routine inspections of trailers, vehicles, and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
6. Assist with launching and recovering boats as needed
7. Adhere to all health & safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment

Key Requirements:

1. Previous experience in a similar yard or boat handling role is preferred
2. Confident in towing and manoeuvring boats using trailers (Towing licence advantageous)
3. Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one) is beneficial
4. Good understanding of health and safety in a yard/marine environment
5. Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks
6. A team player with a proactive and reliable approach to work
