We are searching for a Workshop Supervisor to join the Steam at our Machine Preparation Centre in Immingham. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring that all machinery services and repairs are conducted efficiently and to the highest standards. You will lead a dedicated team of technicians and collaborate closely with management to enhance workshop performance and customer satisfaction.
What you will be doing:
Overseeing workshop operations, ensuring jobs are completed on time and to the highest standards
Managing and motivating your team—workforce planning, recruitment, training, and performance management
Ensuring top-quality output, investigating and resolving any issues to prevent reoccurrence
Maintaining health & safety excellence, leading by example to uphold best practices
Supporting apprentices, providing supervision, mentoring, and hands-on development
Overseeing tools & equipment, ensuring maintenance, testing, and availability when needed
Driving continuous improvement, reviewing processes and implementing smarter ways of working
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
To be successful in this role, we require the following qualifications and experience:
A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics or equivalent
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the heavy construction equipment or related industry
Strong technical expertise in servicing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and other mechanical systems
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and health and safety
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks and reporting
Full UK driving license
