About The CompanyEstablished in 2021, Benjamins Workshop Ltd is a dynamic and growing bespoke cabinetry joinery company based in Bethnal Green E2. In three years, the company has grown from a team of 1 to 12, and has swiftly become established amongst the most in-demand workshops in London.
The company provides bespoke fitted furniture to residential and commercial projects across London, primarily supplying kitchens, wardrobes, commercial cabinetry, and other bespoke joinery items. Our client base consists of professionals, established designers, main contractors, and high-end users.
The team includes Managing Director, Workshop & Production Manager, Designer, Head Joiner, Workshop team x 4, Installation team, Sprayer, Workshop Assistant, and Accounts.
About The RoleThe Workshop & Production Manager is a crucial role at Benjamins Workshop, as we consolidate and continue our growth. It is a diverse and exciting position for a highly organised and motivated candidate.
The Workshop & Production Manager controls the company's core operational and back-office functions. Proactive and skilful delivery of our installations, workshop facility, sales, HR, and administration creates the context in which the rest of the team can deliver their very best work and fulfil our mission to create joinery for perfect projects.
The successful candidate will form an important partnership with our Joinery Manager and Designer. This team is responsible for all aspects of our joinery offer.
The Key Areas Of Responsibility Are As FollowsInstallation Management: Lead on communication and logistics around the company's installations. Day-to-day management of the install team.
Workshop Management: Oversee the smooth running of the facility. Day-to-day management of the sprayer and workshop assistant.
Pricing and Sales: Respond to project enquiries and prepare quotes for MD sign-off. Distribute quotes and deal with queries arising. Secure sales.
General and Financial Administration: Provide the first point of contact for general queries. Organise financial paperwork for clients. Complete internal financial reporting. Provide financial information to the accounting team.
HR and Team Support: Provide management contact for the team for HR issues. Take a leading role in team meetings. Attend and input at annual appraisals. Encourage team communication and collaboration.
Skills And Attributes Required- Circa 5 years experience working within joinery production on the workshop management/administrative side
- Proactive individual
- High level of personal organisation
- Ability to manage a number of responsibilities in a calm and productive manner
- Confident and skilful manager
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of joinery production
- Ability to read architectural and workshop drawings, and extract info required
- Experienced in joinery installation and logistics
- Experienced in joinery pricing and sales
- Understanding of joinery finishing techniques, processes, and materials
- Excellent numerical skills and high standard of ability on spreadsheet software
- Methodical, detail-oriented person
- Superb customer service skills
- Friendly demeanour and positive, problem-solving attitude
