Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Manager to join our Volkswagen Dealership in Stratford-upon-Avon. Hours of work are 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Fridays and one in 3 Saturdays 8:00 - 12:30.
Basic Salary up to £45,000 with OTE up to £48,000 plus use of a company car & benefits.

The Workshop Manager will focus on managing a busy workshop, including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Commercial Vehicles, and a large internal retail and fleet operation. This role also involves liaising with a second workshop including a Battery Competency Centre. Responsibility for all aspects of back of house work including, but not limited to, overseeing equipment calibrations, health and safety, technician reviews, workshop meetings, and Annual Franchise Audit preparation.

Description

Managing the workflow of all jobs to brand standard.
Manage a team of Technicians ensuring workflow through the workshop is done in an efficient and effective manner.
Provide focused management to the service department team, to ensure an excellent customer experience.
Ensure processes are always adhered to.
Conduct regular process reviews with your Aftersales Manager to identify operational issues / discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow up actions are taken to rectify.
Manage the performance of the workshop to ensure that KPI targets are achieved.
Manage and plan workshop / support resources to ensure that work requirements are fulfilled.
Support the department team as required and ensure that all work is completed on time.
Support the service department with specifications and coding of non-standard, complex jobs and ensure all such work is approved with customers prior to any work being started.
Manage the handover of complex or potentially contentious jobs (invoices, claims) to ensure full buy-in and agreement from the customer (Retail or Internal.)

What we're looking for:

This role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked within a dealership as either a Trainee Workshop Controller, Experienced Workshop Foreman or Experienced Workshop Controller and are looking to Listers for more opportunities to progress.
