Job Title: Works/Production Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Works/Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily production and manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality targets are met.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and company objectives.
- Manage and supervise production staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
- Monitor and optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Maintain and enforce quality control measures, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement and drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyse production data and prepare reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead problem-solving activities and provide solutions to production challenges.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of machinery and equipment.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing environment (5+ years).
- Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in production planning and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
- AutoCAD beneficial.
