Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Arable enterprise for a Working Arable Farm Manager. An integrated business supplying the needs of the agriculture sector across the South East, currently cropping 1,200ha. The company prides itself on providing solutions to our clients promptly and professionally, whilst continuing to expand within a rapidly moving sector.

Key Features:

  1. An opportunity to manage an arable team within a mixed farming operation with a suckler herd in addition to contracting and organics businesses.
  2. The use of the latest technology and machinery.

Aims and Responsibilities:

  1. Produce consistently high-quality crops with the support of our Agronomist.
  2. Maximise the productivity and profitability of the Arable Enterprise within the confines of good agricultural practice and cross compliance.
  3. Accurately record consumable deliveries and maintain stock levels for the individual contract farming agreements.
  4. Keep records for ACCS purposes, i.e. cropping, applications, field work, crop storage, rodent control and farm machinery maintenance.
  5. Provide work instruction, direction and leadership to arable enterprise staff and to encompass responsibility for their motivation and discipline.
  6. Undertake the management and operation of the Contract Spraying Enterprise.
  7. Work as part of an integrated team with our livestock, Organics and Contracting enterprises reporting to the Company Chairman.

Requirements for role:

  1. An agricultural background and knowledge of the industry is essential.
  2. At least 5 years practical and relevant experience essential.
  3. Self-motivated with an eye for detail.
  4. Computer literate.
  5. PA1 & PA2 essential.
  6. BASIS would be an advantage.
