Woodland Manager
Woodland Manager – Northamptonshire - £42,500 + Progression

The Job:
Our client is seeking a Woodland Manager to join their expanding forestry consultancy team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a range of woodland and conservation projects while contributing to business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing woodland management plans, overseeing forestry contracts, and securing grants to support sustainable woodland management.
Working closely with landowners, contractors, and regulatory bodies, the role involves timber marketing, applying for felling licences, and advising clients on carbon initiatives and agroforestry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a forestry professional with strong planning and business development skills to advance their career within a dynamic and growing consultancy.

The Company:
Our client is a well-established and growing forestry consultancy dedicated to delivering sustainable woodland management solutions. They work with a diverse range of clients, including private landowners, commercial estates, and conservation organisations. Their services include woodland creation, timber sales, forestry grants, and environmental impact assessments, ensuring that woodlands are managed efficiently and sustainably.

The Candidate:

  1. Minimum of two years’ experience in forestry management
  2. Strong knowledge of UK forestry regulations, grant schemes, and best practices
  3. Confident in planning and executing forestry contracts, managing timber sales, and securing the necessary permissions for woodland work
  4. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role involves working closely with clients, stakeholders, and contractors
  5. Chartered status (or working towards it) with the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF) is highly desirable

The Package:

  1. Salary: Up to £42,500 DOE
  2. Full-time position, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
  3. 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
