Job Opportunity: Barista with a Passion for Wine – SHED, East London

SHED has been a staple of East London’s creative scene since 2013, bringing together great coffee, wine, and a vibrant community rooted in art, photography, and co-working culture. We’re looking for a wine person to join our team—someone who loves hospitality and is excited to explore the world of wine while delivering excellent customer service. Ideally, we need someone who has coffee experience since our shop is both coffee + wine, although this position is in the evenings, so less focused on coffee and more on wine.

What We’re Looking For:

1. A wine retailer with a genuine passion for wine, eager to learn more about grape varieties, producers, and regions.
2. Ideally based in East London, with a strong sense of community and hospitality.
3. Comfortable with coffee service, including dialing in grinders and machine maintenance, but just as keen to discuss and serve wine.
4. A team player with a positive attitude, keen to be part of a creative and social environment.

Must-Have Skills & Qualities:

1. Be able to take feedback and improve.
2. Open to training and learning, especially when it comes to wine.
3. Genuinely interested in wine culture, from production to tasting.
4. An appreciation for coffee, understanding its origins, roasting process, and flavor profiles.
5. Good at following systems and processes, aligning with SHED’s way of working.
6. Strong command of English.
7. Likeable, friendly, and engaging with customers and colleagues.
