Wind Turbine Apprenticeship - Inverness
Deutsche Windtechnik are offering the opportunity for motivated people to start a career in renewables. The apprenticeship scheme will last 4 years, with the first year being based at UHI college. Years 2-4 will be on-site training at windfarms based in the Inverness/North Scotland Region.
Successful candidates will learn to carry out all aspects of a wind turbine technician including routine preventative maintenance, mechanical, electrical, gearbox and hydraulic systems. Unscheduled maintenance and carry out retrofits along with emergency breakdown and major component exchanges.
We will provide a comprehensive and well-supporting learning programme including classroom-based learning and experience, on-site working with wind turbine technicians. Completing the 4-year apprenticeship will result in an SVQ level 3 qualification.
Five National 5/GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 4/C or above which must include Mathematics, English and Science. Mathematics shall be Level 3 as a minimum.
Pass a pre-employment medical and fitness test before a formal offer of employment is confirmed. You will also need to provide the correct Right to Work documentation and relevant qualifications.
