Job Title: Specialist Tutors

Location: Wigan

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £25-£35 p/h

TeacherActive are looking for enthusiastic and professional Tutors to support Primary and Secondary age pupils across Wigan with their Education. We work with Local Authorities supporting their outreach programmes, offering bespoke education packages to pupils who are currently unable to attend school.

We work with a wide range of students who have a diverse set of needs including SEND, Medical Needs and living in looked after environments. Tutors provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education. We are currently seeking tutors for home tuition supporting students, with the biggest focus on delivering core skills in English, Maths and behaviour specialists.

You will be able to work full time or part time depending on your personal preference of working hours.

As a Tutor you will require the following:

• Excellent communication skills
• At least 6 months experience within an educational environment
• Experience working with pupils on a 1-1 basis
• A passion for making a difference to young people’s learning
• Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions
• Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEND
