About the opportunity :

Reporting into the Category Manager - Animal Health, Animal Management, Fencing & General Merchandise & Water - West Region, you’ll be responsible for assisting in the procurement and management of the above mentioned categories products, including the management of inventory, as well as developing strong relationships with key suppliers. This is a critical role within our team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the West region category team with planning and sourcing the above categories products for branches.
• Assist with organising meetings with suppliers and branches as well as help drive the procurement strategy.
• Provide high integrity analysis and advice on portfolio of products to the business and key stakeholders as required.
• Support our branch network with pricing guidance and act as a key point of contact for our network, branch and activity staff.
• Manage inventory effectively by seeking new ways to increase stock turns, reduce excess stock and minimise loss through expired and damaged stocks.
• Assist with managing inventory levels according to budget and manage the West Region price book for specific categories.

About You :

• Strong understanding of Animal Health, Animal Management and Fencing products. Ideally, a tertiary qualification in Animal Science or similar and retail rural merchandise experience.
• Analytical mindset with critical thinking capability, high attention to detail, and ability to produce accurate outcomes.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing demands and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High skill level in Excel is mandatory; experience with SAP and PowerBI is highly advantageous.
