Join Us as a Student Well-being Officer at a prestigious University!
Location: Uxbridge | Salary: £18.57/hour | Contract until end of July

Are you passionate about student support and well-being? Do you want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of prospective applicants and students in the medical and Physician Associate fields? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

The University is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Student Well-being Officer to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide exceptional support and guidance to our students, ensuring their well-being throughout their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Comprehensive Support: Provide confidential and impartial advice on a range of internal and external support services to BMS students through face-to-face and online sessions.
  2. Expert Knowledge: Utilise your extensive knowledge of BMS services, Brunel University resources, and local community support.
  3. Independent Decision-Making: Make informed decisions regarding student support and referrals to central Brunel services, including counselling and mental health advisors.
  4. Case Management: Create and review student support plans tailored to individual needs, including reasonable adjustments and well-being action plans.
  5. Student Navigation: Support students through university processes such as academic misconduct, extenuating circumstances, and fitness to practise assessments.
  6. Event Coordination: Contribute to the delivery of Welcome Week, International Orientation, and other key events, helping students feel welcomed and engaged.
  7. Project Leadership: Lead collaborative projects and events to enhance student resilience and well-being in partnership with various departments and organisations.
  8. House System Involvement: Manage and support the House System, including the peer mentor programme, to cultivate valuable student relationships.
  9. Crisis Response: Respond calmly to crisis situations and conduct appropriate risk assessments.
  10. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case notes in secure databases while adhering to GDPR guidelines.
  11. Team Collaboration: Work alongside BMS staff, student services, and various university departments to provide comprehensive support.
  12. Policy Contribution: Participate in reviewing and updating policies relevant to student welfare and support.
