ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Are you an experienced welder or fabricator who is interested in extending your range of skills and developing your career? If so, this role in an interesting, multi-disciplinary workshop is for you.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

As Welder/Fabricator, you will create a wide scope of sub-assemblies and parts in the manufacture of specialist industrial doors.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Read and interpret drawings and diagrams.
  2. Metal fabrication and assembly.
  3. Operating machinery including cutting, drilling, bending, and overhead cranes.
  4. Potential to operate a 6-metre brake press.
  5. Working to tolerances and quality finish set out in the documentation.

SKILLS/TRAINING:

Experience in welding/fabrication. The post-holder will:

  1. Demonstrate welding experience (MIG & TIG).
  2. Demonstrate attention to detail in fabrication.
  3. Machinery operation including cutting, welding, drilling, etc.
  4. Operate as part of an effective team.
  5. Demonstrate drive and enthusiasm.
  6. Work flexibly on assigned tasks.
  7. Demonstrate health and safety knowledge and discipline.
  8. Maintain equipment.
  9. Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  10. Willing to multitask and learn various skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLE:

  1. Undertake training as required.
  2. Work safely and in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures and use of PPE.
  3. Make sure your work area(s) is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  4. Follow management instructions.
  5. Follow standard operating procedures.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
