Welder

Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, One of the UK's leading Shipbuilding and repair companies, in their search for experienced Welder to work in Birkenhead.

For the successful Welder our client is offering:

• Hourly rate of £20.00 per hour (PAYE)
• Overtime paid at x1.5 (£30.00) & x2 (£40.00)
• Core Working hours Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a 2:30pm finish on Friday
• Overtime available after core hours & weekends
• Long-term temporary position
• Holiday pay
• Pension - Auto enrolment after 3 months
• Opportunities for candidates to become permanent depending on performance

The role - Welder:

• Welding steel components.
• Completing Flux-core welding
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Operating various tools and machinery.
• Assembling the parts into a structure, usually by welding it, but sometimes using bolts and rivets
• Finishing off the assembly, using tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface
• Ensuring high-quality standards are met.
• Following health and safety protocols

What our client is looking for in a Welder:

• City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in fabrication or welding - BENEFICIAL
• Proven expertise in heavy gauge steel welding. ESSENTIAL
• Experience of Flux core welding - BENEFICIAL
• Previously coded in MIG/MMA welding - BENEFICIAL
• Proven experience in the Marine / Nuclear / Steel fabrication / Off-shore / Petro-chemical or Construction industries - ESSENTIAL
• Significant experience in marine/ship repair
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Full BPSS check or willingness to undergo the clearance process
