Join our clients growing team as a Welder/Fabricator in beautiful Crewkerne!

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual who is knowledgeable in stainless steel and mild steel welding, with a particular advantage in purge and hygienic welding techniques.

15.00 to 20.00 per hour - depending on experience

Day shift

Monday - Friday - 07:30 - 17:00.

As our Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for performing general fabrication and TIG welding of various circular and square hollow section stainless steel pipework. This includes utilising a wide range of fabrication tools and equipment to produce high-quality work.

At our clients company, they pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and attention to detail. They specialise in working with stainless steel and often perform purge welding, making knowledge and experience in this area a major advantage. However, they are also open to training the right candidate who has a good understanding of stainless steel and mild steel welding.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong work ethic, be able to manage their time efficiently, and be a team player. Our clients projects often require working with tight deadlines, so the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and weld various forms of stainless steel piping, including circular and square hollow sections.
  • Use a range of fabrication tools and equipment, such as saws, drills, grinders, and welding machines.
  • Understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform purge welding and other hygienic welding techniques.
  • Inspect and test welded surfaces to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Carry out general fabrication duties, including cutting, drilling, and bending.
  • Take part in daily team meetings to discuss project progress and work collaboratively to problem-solve when challenges arise.
  • Carry out general maintenance and upkeep of the fabrication area and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in stainless steel and mild steel welding.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in performing purge and hygienic welding techniques (highly advantageous).
  • Fabrication experience, including the use of various tools and equipment.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety procedures in a fabrication environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
  • A willingness to train and learn new techniques and skills.
