Job description

We’re looking for a Welder to join the Peterhead Power Station team.

In this role, you will be working as part of a maintenance team on pressure part repairs replacing valves and pipework and steel work modifications, as well as carrying out small fabrication works.

  1. Set up welding equipment, including selecting appropriate materials and settings.
  2. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as needed.
  3. Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  4. Perform maintenance and repair on existing structures and equipment.
  5. Collaborate with team members to plan and execute welding projects.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
  7. Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Site: Power Station

Duration: 3 months

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30am-16:00pm & Friday 7:30am-12:30pm (37 hours)

Pay: CIS

Rate: TBC

Start: ASAP

What do I need to be successful in the role?

  1. Experience as a coded welder GTAW & MAW qualified to ASME IX 6G in carbon steel & stainless steel.
  2. Must hold a recognised welding Apprenticeship to N/SVQ Level 3 as a minimum.
  3. Familiarity with a variety of welding equipment and tools.
  4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  5. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Physical dexterity and stamina for extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
  8. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding operations.
  9. It would be a benefit if you have experience in welding Cr-Mo grade11 & Cr-Mo grade12 (P11 / P22)
