The Role
As a Welder, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects. Mission Systems works with a number of key clients domestically and internationally.

Day-to-day, you’ll be working in a small but highly effective team where the highest of standards will be expected from both a technical and behavioural perspective.

  • Welding of large high strength, quenched and tempered Steel assemblies for the defence industry.
  • Welding of assemblies used for lifting and handling in the defence industry.
  • Welding using manual, mechanised and automatic (Robotic) welding processes.

This position involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.

Essential Experience of the Welder

  • Time served apprenticeship or similar in welding/fabrication.
  • Evidence of previously held coding’s to recognised European/American standards.
  • Working to high quality standards.
  • Capable of reading complex fabrication drawings.
  • Experience of positional welding using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and solid Wire pulse Metal Active Gas (MAG) is essential.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can start of Standard (BPSS) security clearance but must be able to achieve Security Check (SC) security clearance.
