TaxAssist accountants is an established brand delivering tax and accounting services to over 100,000 customers in the UK from 400+ locations.
We're looking for 2 new web developers to work with our existing team at our central office based in Norwich to help us in our journey to continually improve and deliver real value to stakeholders through various online projects.
The Role
As a web developer at TaxAssist you will join a small but growing, talented and friendly team of developers tasked with building new and maintaining existing projects online for internal and public use.
We are excited to be embarking on a brand new project for a web-based platform built with TypeScript, React, Next.js and Supabase. The role is primarily focussed in this area as we transition to this new stack.
Our legacy stack is Laravel based so any experience here is welcome.
As we are a small team, you may be required to get involved in aspects of requirements gathering, specification design, as well as QA, UAT and a range of other administration and development related tasks. These are not the core elements of the role, but any experience and desire to carry out these functions should be highlighted in your application as well as overall flexibility and adaptability.
You will be able to operate in a hybrid way ideally with 1-2 days in the office in Norwich per week. Though we are flexible with this and of course understand everyone has different needs and preferences that can be worked with to align the team to the goals of the business.
Responsibilities
Work with the team to produce highly performant, secure, scalable and maintainable code to deliver real value for our stakeholders. Participate in daily stand-ups and weekly sprint reviews to help the team improve our processes, overall code quality and ensure we are aligning ourselves with the current industry best practices and methods.

Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science ideal but not required, we value knowledge not paper.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a web developer as part of a development team.
Selection process
We respect your time so don’t want to waste it with five+ rounds of interviews and take-home tests.
We intend on a maximum of three rounds which may include meeting members of the team and senior leadership and a straightforward quiz so we can get a good understanding of your knowledge, approach to problem solving and team fit.
