The Role: Web Designer
Digital Marketing is a newly formed team, sitting across the Underwriting, Schemes and Affinities division of PIB Group. There are a number of brands within the division, covering a variety of insurance products from Pet and Motor to Childcare and Healthcare. The group is proud of the heritage of its businesses, with hundreds of years of collective experience in serving customers and leading the way for the industries they serve.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating visually striking, user-friendly, and responsive websites that reflect our brand values. Working across the brands, you will ensure that our digital platforms offer a seamless experience, blending aesthetics with functionality. You will collaborate with developers, the digital marketing team and other stakeholders to bring creative concepts to life while ensuring the best possible user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop visually appealing website layouts and user interfaces that align with brand guidelines and marketing goals.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are fully realised in code, ensuring a high-quality, responsive user experience across devices.
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Optimise website designs for usability, speed, and SEO to enhance performance and user engagement.
- Work with marketing teams to incorporate web design into larger campaigns, ensuring consistency across digital touchpoints.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of web design trends, tools, and best practices, ensuring our websites remain competitive and innovative.
- Manage and prioritise multiple design projects across different brands while meeting deadlines and ensuring quality.
- Ensure all designs are compatible with a variety of web browsers, platforms, and devices, paying close attention to mobile optimisation.
- Partner with the digital marketing and campaign teams to understand goals and objectives, translating them into impactful design solutions.
Experience:
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent; a degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in web design with a portfolio showcasing responsive, user-focused designs.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript to effectively communicate with developers.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and prototyping software like Figma or Sketch.
- Experience with UX/UI principles and best practices, ensuring optimal usability and performance.
- Experience with responsive design and accessibility principles.
- Understanding of SEO principles and how design impacts website performance.
- Passion for creativity and innovation, with a willingness to adopt new design trends and tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple brands.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing project requirements.
- Knowledge of CMS platforms such as WordPress or Sitecore is a plus.
