Web Content Editor

Location: Swindon

Pay Rate: £16.25 per hour (equivalent salary £29,923)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Initially 4 weeks on a trial basis, with potential extension to 6 months

Start Date: January 2025

Job Overview:

My client is seeking three Web Content Editors to join their existing Web Content team. This role will start in January on a trial basis for 4 weeks, with the view to extending up to 6 months. The successful candidates will work 2 days per week in the office for the first 2 weeks, and 1 day per week in the office thereafter.

Key Responsibilities:

As a web content editor, you’ll be part of the multidisciplinary web team working on the group website service, making it simpler and easier for people to understand and use.

You will work on requests from colleagues and subject matter experts across the organisation to publish and edit content, updating pages and adding new templated content to the website, ensuring that content is scheduled within agreed timeframes and meets quality standards.

  1. Web publishing:
  2. Review, edit and publish templated content to reflect house-style and web team best practice.
  3. Review other content editors' drafts in the content management system.
  4. Actively participate in daily stand-ups to update on workload and share issues.
  5. Manage daily workload using tools including web content support and Asana.
  6. Reschedule work based on new or changing priorities, reacting quickly and efficiently to changing priorities and providing clear, positive communication.
  7. Source images from Asset Bank and approved image libraries that are on brand and give guidance to colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience of editing or proofing written content in a content management system.
  • Proficiency in CMS (WordPress or similar).
  • Experience in web content publishing.
  • Understanding of web technologies and digital platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital communications best practices.
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Effective influencing, persuading, and negotiating skills.
